TWO v0.10.0 release!

I’ve just put up TWO v0.10.0 up for download, Win and MacOS.

This release concludes the massive optimization of the timelines functionality.

When previously it did work well, even with tens of thousands of messages, the feature did start becoming unresponsive with hundreds of thousands of messages. Which, depending on the use case, may not be too uncommon.

I’m happy to say that now, after a lot of work, TWO can work efficiently even with a session comprising a million messages – or more, I stopped testing there.

Already version 0.9.25 contained some of these optimizations, but crucially it lacked the significant optimization in the GUI that now allows also editing / interacting with such large recordings.

Both recording, editing, and playback are vastly optimized. More can be done, but I leave that to a future release.

Next up, I am working on a bug-fixing release.

Meanwhile, please go ahead and download v0.10.0!

  1. This looks great, but I can’t get it to run on a Surface Pro 6 running Windows 10 pro. It crashes before anything even appears.

    This is the error:

    1. Hi, thanks for the crash report!

Unfortunately it doesn’t contain too much info as is so I cannot diagnose from that message alone.

      I see you’re using 0.10.0, you could upgrade to 0.10.1, but I don’t expect it’ll make a difference.

It does work well on the Windows computers I have available to test on.
If you have another PC, do try on that one too, and do also try to uninstall/reinstall just in case. Did you run a previous version of TWO successfully or was this the first install you made?

I’ll keep this in mind and try to see if I can reproduce it, meanwhile, if you have any more diagnostic info, I’d be grateful if you’d post it – preferably on https://forum.controlmedia.art
